On 6 November 2024, Mr. Nazarudin Jaafar, the Deputy Chief of Mission, attended a meeting with Ms. Choi Youn Jung, Vice President of the Sejong Institute. The discussion focused on ASEAN and the relationship between Malaysia-Korea. Also present at the meeting was Ms Farlina Said, Senior Analyst from the Institute of Strategic & International Studies (ISIS), Ms Izan Idayu and Mr Bill Chee, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Malaysia.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in a fruitful discussion regarding geopolitical dynamics, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and cooperation among nations to address shared challenges.
The engagement with the Sejong Institute served to strengthen the diplomatic ties between Malaysia and Korea, highlighting the significance of academic institutions in fostering informed discussions. This collaboration is expected to contribute to Malaysia's strategic approach in regional security affairs and enhance mutual understanding between the two friendly nations.
