MINISTER LEADS TRADE AND INVESTMENT MISSION TO KOREA

The Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, led a delegation of government officials and private sector members on a Trade and Investment Mission to Korea from 16 to 18 July, 2012. The delegation included the CEO of the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) Dato’ Noharuddin Nordin and the CEO of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Dr Wong Lai Sum. The Seminar “Business Opportunities in Malaysia” held at a hotel in Seoul on the first day of the Mission attracted several hundred participants from the Korean business sector. A Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Industrial Cooperation was signed with the Ministry of Knowledge Economy on the same day. The Minister left the next day after a breakfast meeting with Korean chaebol. The Trade and Investment Mission continued to Busan headed by the CEO of MIDA.
