With a half year left for Visit Malaysia Year 2014 the Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia in Seoul held a special Pre-launch of Visit Malaysia Year 2014 to keep the momentum achieved from months of intensive promotional campaigns. The event, which followed the official launch of the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 promotional campaign in Kuala Lumpur in May by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak, was officiated by H.E. Dato’ Ramlan Ibrahim, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul on 29 May 2013. The lively dinner event was attended by representatives from the Korean travel industry, Malaysian tourism officials, media representatives and officers from the Embassy and Malaysian Agencies in Seoul. In his remarks at the function, the Ambassador highlighted Malaysia’s brand of harmony in a land of cultural diversity. Apart from the Malaysian people the various tourist attractions are set to woo 28.8 million visitors in 2014. The audience was treated to a lucky draw with attractive prizes, cultural performances, teh tarik or tea-pulling demonstrations and also had the chance to try their hand at batik-painting.
