RISING ECONOMIES IN ASIA AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOUTH KOREA

A special forum to discuss the pertinent issue of rising economies in Asia and the opportunities for South Korea was organised by Economist Corporate Network on 24 January 2024 at Conrad Hotel in Seoul. Three presenters from the economic section of the Embassies of Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam were invited to share their insights on the presence of Korean companies in the region and what area of opportunities that have yet to be fully explored by Korean companies. Malaysia was represented by Mr Ruhizam Idris, Director of MIDA Office in Seoul. Also in attendance was the Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Malawakil Seoul.

In addition to the three esteemed presenters, the organiser had also invited three other speakers, namely, Prof Dr Ko YoungKyung, Dr Kim Nam Seok and Mr Baek Min Woo to provide further insights on the domestic policy direction under the current administration as well as actual business encounters by Korean companies in Southeast Asian region. The forum was moderated by Jacco Zwetsloot.
