H.E. Dato’ Ramlan bin Ibrahim, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea visited Samsung Electronics' research and production centre in Suwon, south of Seoul on Monday, 15 June 2009. Other members from the Malaysian Embassy were Ms. Astanah Abdul Aziz, Deputy Chief of Mission and Mr. Norjufri Nizar Edrus, First Secretary. The delegates were received by Samsung Electronics’ General Affairs Group Manager, Mr. Jung Uiyong.

The delegates were invited to the Samsung's corporate history museum and showrooms. The museum, presided over by a bust of the company founder Mr. Byung-Chull Lee, walked the delegates through Samsung Electronics' humble origins as a maker of black-and-white TVs to its current, multibillion-dollar status. It also offered an overview of the company's path of growth since its establishment in 1969.

The guided tour to showrooms provided an opportunity to Samsung to present its latest high-end products including handsets equipped with mini projector, flat-panel LED digital displays and home theatre system of cutting-edge sound quality. The collection of new consumer gadgets shows a flair for clever features and industrial design.
