The 15th Selangor State Legislative Assembly conducted a working visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) from 6 to 8 May 2026. The delegation was led by YB Lau Weng San, the Speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, joined by other legislative members and officers, namely YB Mr Yew Jia Haur (Teratai), YB Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad (Lembah Jaya), YB Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim (Kota Damansara), YB Pua Pei Lin (Bukit Lanjan), YB Nurul Syazwani Noh (Permatang), Mr Ahmad Fuad Hilmi bin Muhamad and Ms. Nur Khairunnisa Binti Rosni.

The delegation paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Dato' Mohd Zamruni Khalid, Ambassador of Malaysia to the ROK, at the Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul, where both parties exchanged views on matters of mutual interest. During the engagement, the Ambassador shared valuable insights into the current landscape of Malaysia-ROK relations and took the opportunity to raise concerns regarding the rise of job scams and voice phishing syndicates. He highlighted that these criminal networks frequently target Malaysians, luring them to the ROK only for them to find themselves trapped in fraudulent operations or legal jeopardy. The Ambassador urged the delegation to assist in spreading awareness within their respective constituencies in Selangor, emphasising the importance of deterrence to prevent more citizens from falling victim to these scams.
