The 15th Malaysian Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) conducted a working visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) from 8 to 11 December 2025. The delegation was led by YB Datuk Wira Mas Ermieyati binti Samsudin (Masjid Tanah), Chairwoman of the 15th Parliament PAC, and YB Teresa Kok Suh Sim (Seputeh), Vice-Chairwoman. They were joined by PAC members, namely, YB Dato’ Adnan bin Abu Hassan (Kuala Pilah), YB Dato’ Mohd Isam bin Mohd Isa (Tampin), YB Sim Tze Tzin (Bayan Baru), YB Ts. Zahir bin Hassan (Wangsa Maju), YB Dr Richard Rapu (Betong), YB Haji Azli bin Yusof (Shah Alam), YB Dato’ Wira Dr. Ku Abd Rahman bin Ku Ismail (Subang Pasu), YB Ahmad Tarmizi bin Sulaiman (Sik), and YB Hajah Halimah Ali (Kapar).
The visit primarily focused on the ROK's public finance oversight, anti-corruption systems, sovereign wealth fund management, and digital audit framework. The delegation engaged with eight key ROK stakeholders, namely, Transparency International Korea (TIK), the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI), the ROK National Assembly (NA), the Korea Investment Corporation (KIC), the National Election Commission (NEC), Anyang Smart City Integrated Operations, the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission (ACRC), and the National Assembly Budget Office (NABO).
During their visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Dato' Mohd Zamruni Khalid, Ambassador of Malaysia to the ROK. This meeting facilitated a discussion on the broader context of bilateral relations between Malaysia and the ROK, covering various topics from respective political systems and governance structures to trade relations and economic cooperation. This comprehensive exchange significantly deepened the delegation's understanding of the multifaceted relationship between the two nations, offering valuable perspectives pertinent to their visit objectives.
The visit offered the Malaysian PAC delegation valuable insights into various facets of the ROK's public administration and oversight mechanisms.
