The Governor of Melaka, His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, undertook a working visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) from 19 to 23 January 2026. His Excellency was accompanied by a delegation of 23 Malaysian companies under the economic bureau of “Dunia Melayu, Dunia Islam” (DMDI), an organisation established by the Malacca State Government to promote unity and solidarity within the Malay-Muslim community, while fostering international cooperation in all areas of development.
The visit focused primarily on DMDI’s objective to establish a presence in the ROK and to facilitate business networking with various stakeholders, particularly within the Korean fashion and halal industries. This visit provided His Excellency and the DMDI business delegation with valuable insights into the burgeoning opportunities available within these sectors in the ROK market.
