WORKING VISIT OF THE INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF THE ROYAL MALAYSIA POLICE

The Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) comprising 9 senior officers, conducted a working visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) from 2 to 7 February 2026. The delegation was led by Dato Sri Hj Mohd Khalid bin Hj Ismail, Inspector-General Police of the Royal Malaysia Police.

 

The RMP visited the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA), the National Counter Scam Centre (NASC), and the Seoul Metropolitan Police (SMP) headquarters. The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the RMP and the KNPA, aimed at strengthening collaboration to curb transnational crime between the two nations.

 

Additionally, His Excellency Dato' Mohd Zamruni Khalid, the Ambassador of Malaysia to the ROK, hosted a dinner for the RMP delegation at Rumah Malaysia. During the dinner, the Ambassador and the IGP exchanged views on current crime trends and reaffirmed their shared commitment to addressing the cross-border nature of phishing scams, ensuring that diplomatic and law enforcement efforts remain closely aligned.

 

The RMP visit underscored the growing importance of international partnerships in addressing modern security threats such as scams and established a definitive roadmap for future operational synergy between Malaysia and ROK.
