Year-end Luncheon for the Media
The Embassy of Malaysia in the Republic of Korea hosted a luncheon on 21 December 2011 at the Embassy to fete the local media in appreciation of their support and cooperation to foster ties and friendship between Malaysia and Korea. The gathering was also to get to know each other better and enhance the working relationship to serve the mutual interests of both Malaysia and Korea. Mr Abdullah Zawawi Tahir, Minister Counsellor delivered the welcoming remarks on behalf of H.E. Ambassador to a sizeable audience of media practitioners and officials and staff from the embassy and related agencies.
The prominent media included the Seoul Times, the Financial News, YTN (24-hr News Channel), i-msn (newspaper), Focus (newspaper), EBS (Korea Educational Broadcasting System), SBS-CNBC, Hankyoreh (newspaper). Representatives from the Korea Culture Association and Dalton Investment Co. Ltd. were also among the guests. The online newspaper The Seoul Times published an article on the luncheon event on 22 December 2011 which can be accessed at www.theseoultimes.com.
A video presentation during the luncheon provided the audience with a rare glimpse of Malaysia’s proposed Pavilion at the Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea to provoke interest and garner publicity for Malaysia’s participation in the international exposition from 12 May 2012 to 12 August 2012. The Malaysia Pavilion will boast the theme “Malaysia’s Biodiversity Heaven: A Gift from Nature”. A press release on Malaysia’s participation and Pavilion was also distributed to the representatives of the media.
