Malaysians in Kuwait celebrated Hari Raya Aidil Fitri at the Embassy on 30 August 2011. Dato' Adnan Haji Othman, Ambassador of Malaysia to Kuwait hosted the celebration which was attended by more than 100 Malaysians residing in Kuwait.
The day began with the 'takbir raya' before guests proceeded to perform the Aidil Fitri prayers. Dato' Adnan also took the opportunity to address the Malaysian community for the very first time since his arrival to Kuwait. In his speech, Dato' Adnan outlined his goals and target of the Embassy for the next coming years as well as urging all Malaysians to register themselves with the Embassy to facillitate any form assistance in times of need and emergency.
The Hari Raya Open House was held in a very festive atmosphere as guests were treated with traditional Malaysian Hari Raya food including ketupat, rendang, lontong and lemang among many more delicacies. It was also the time for the Malaysian community to catch-up with one another and get to know their new Ambassador.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Kuwait would like to wish all Malaysians in Kuwait 'Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri'.
