On 5 August 2010, Ambassador Zainal Abidin Ahmad flagged off the 'Berbasikal Mengelilingi Dunia 2' @ BDM2 (Cycling Around the World) duo at the Embassy of Malaysia, Vientiane. They two cyclists, Abdul Khalib Zakaria and Mohd Aswad Zainal spent two nights in Vientiane after cycling 2,200km from Putrajaya.
