MALAYSIAN ASSOCIATION IN MYANMAR (MAM) 2009/2010
On 20 June 2009, the Malaysian Association in Myanmar (MAM) held its Annual General Meeting at the MICASA Hotel in Yangon. The meeting was attended by 30 members of the association. TYT Dato’ Mazlan Muhammad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Union of Myanmar was invited to attend the AGM in his capacity as the Patron of the Association.
TYT Dato’ Mazlan in his opening remark congratulated the newly elected President Mr. Joseph Lopez and the other EXCO members and reminded them of their responsibilities to uphold the trust given by the members and organise activities to promote harmony and friendship among Malaysian living in Myanmar.
He also stressed that the new EXCO members should ensure that MAM become a credible association a step higher than a social club and to ensure that the prestige and good name of our country Malaysia remain high amongst the people of Myanmar. In this regard, the Embassy of Malaysia in Yangon will provide all the necessary support and assistance to the newly elected EXCO.
The AGM ended at 6.30 pm.
