The Merdeka Charity Golf Tournament was inaugurated more than 20 years ago in conjunction with the Malaysia’s National Day. The tournament has been held annually in the month of September. Jointly organised by the Embassy of Malaysia and the Malaysian Association in Myanmar (MAM), this year’s Merdeka Cup was held at YCDC Golf Course on 5 September 2015. 160 golfers took part. The tournament was followed by a Gala Dinner attended mostly by Malaysians as well as friends of Malaysia. It was held at the Sule Shangri-la Hotel.
