H.E Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, the Chief Minister of the state of Sarawak visited Myanmar on 13th - 16th December. The Chief Minister was accompanied by the state's ministers and exco members of the Sarawak Parliament. The delegation called on the Chief Minister and met the Malaysian community in Yangon before proceeded to Myanmar's capital, Nay Pyi Taw on 15th Dec. In Nay Pyi Taw, the delegation called on the Union Minister for Hotel & Tourism and Union Minister for Electric Power. They also made a site visit to the Paunglaung dam and underground power station just outside the capital.
