CULTURAL DIPLOMACY: NIGERIA INTERNATIONAL ARTS AND CRAFTS EXPO, 20 – 24 NOVEMBER 2019

As part of cultural diplomacy programme, Mission successfully participated in the International Arts and Crafts Expo from 20 to 24 November 2019 in Abuja, Nigeria. With the theme 'Networking Nigerian Crafts to the World', the event was hosted by the National Arts and Culture Commission of Nigeria to showcase Nigerian arts and craft to the international audiences as well as to promote and bridge cultural and arts from Nigeria with other participating countries. The expo also portrayed arts and culture as tool for the promotion of peace, social integration and national identity.

Mission’s booth had attracted around 1,500 visitors during the whole expo. With the close cooperation from PERWAKILAN Abuja, Mission showcased wide range of Terengganu batiks, songket, pewters and handicrafts as well as famous Malaysian food like Nasi Lemak, Mee Goreng, Roti Jala, Karipap etc. The Teh Tarik demonstration attracted wide audience. Mission would like to take this opportunity to thank the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the National Department of Culture and Arts for their support.
