The High Commission of Malaysia in Abuja, Nigeria successfully organized the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) Alumni Programme on 14 and 15 October 2020 at the Chancery. The two-day programme served as a networking platform among officials of the High Commission of Malaysia and the MTCP alumni from Nigeria, and an outreach activity through distribution of 100 packages to the less fortunate at Abuja.
A total of 20 alumni, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria including an invited guest from the Central African Republic, a recipient country of MTCP attended the programmes. The High Commission has limited number of participants to the programmes in adherence to the strict rules and regulations by both Governments of Malaysia and Nigeria.
During the two-day programmes, H.E. Madam Gloria Tiwet, the High Commissioner handed MTCP memorabilia to all participants. On 15 October 2020, the High Commissioner presented 100 packages, containing face masks and food items to Mr Solomon A. Adams, the President of the Pro-Tem Committee of the MTCP Alumni of Nigeria, for further distribution to the less fortunate affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in and around Abuja.
The two-day MTCP alumni programmes was a success and met its objective as a platform for networking and continuous engagement with MTCP Alumni in Nigeria. The programme impacted the MTCP alumni and the people of Nigeria during this period of Covid-19 pandemic.
