WORKING VISIT OF
HIS EXCELLENCY MANUEL A. GONZÁLEZ SANZ
MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND WORSHIP
OF THE REPUBLIC COSTA RICA
TO MALAYSIA
12-15 MARCH 2016
His Excellency Manuel A. González Sanz, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Costa Rica, will be undertaking a Working Visit to Malaysia from 12 to 15 March 2016. This will be the first visit by His Excellency Manuel A. González Sanz to Malaysia.
During the visit, His Excellency González is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with Y.B. Dato’ Sri Anifah Hj. Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, followed by an official luncheon hosted by Y.B. Minister of Foreign Affairs in honour of his counterpart and members of delegation. His Excellency González is also scheduled to meet with Y.B. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry. He will also deliver a keynote address at the Global Talk Series at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and visit the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC) in Cyberjaya.
The visit will afford an excellent opportunity for both countries to further strengthen existing bilateral cooperation in trade and education as well as expand ties into new areas of cooperation. Both Ministers are also expected to discuss and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. In 2015, Costa Rica was Malaysia’s fourth largest trading partner in Central America. Total bilateral trade between Malaysia and Costa Rica in 2015 was valued at USD57.3 million with exports to Costa Rica valued at USD28.3 million and imports from Costa Rica valued at USD29.1 million.
