On 8 August 2016, five ASEAN embassies in The Hague gathered at the Indonesian Embassy to participate the ASEAN Flag Hoisting Ceremony in conjunction with the 49th ASEAN Day celebration. The ceremony started at 10.00 AM with the ASEAN flag raising and singing of the official ASEAN anthem “The ASEAN way”. Afterward, all attendees were ushered into Nusantara Hall, where H.E. Ittiporn Boonpracong, Ambassador of Thailand delivered his remarks as the Chairman of the ASEAN Committee The Hague, followed by remarks of H.E. Gusti A. Wesaka Puja, Ambassador of Indonesia as the host of this year ASEAN Day celebration.
Before the ceremony ends, guests were entertained by the Indonesian cultural dance performance, followed by luncheon provided by the Indonesian Embassy. All ASEAN embassies and ASEAN Ladies Circle (ALC) contributed traditional cuisines and desserts for the occasion.
