On 23 April 2018, Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) organized a seminar titled ‘Iskandar Malaysia: The Next Regional Hub in ASEAN’ at VNO-NCW Headquarters in The Hague. The event was jointly organized with the Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Frankfurt and Malaysian External Trade Corporation (MATRADE) The Hague.
The objective of the event is to promote Iskandar Malaysia as a preferred destination of investment in the ASEAN region through presentations from IRDA, as the authority who oversees the economic development of Iskandar Malaysia, and companies/partners including the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, i2M Ventures, Nusajaya Tech Park and MDBC.
In his opening remarks, H.E. Dato’ Ahmad Nazri Yusof, Ambassador of Malaysia gave a brief introduction on Iskandar Malaysia and highlighted the encouraging progress of Malaysia-Netherlands bilateral trade, Malaysia’s economic performance, ASEAN Economic Community.
Around 30 Dutch companies from the three main sectors – manufacturing, logistics and business services, attended the seminar.
