On Friday, 30 June 2017, H.E. Dato’ Ahmad Nazri Yusof, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands headed the Malaysian delegation to International Court of Justice (ICJ) to file an Application for Interpretation of the Judgement of 23 May 2008 in the Case concerning Sovereignty over Pedra Branca/Pulau Batu Puteh, Middle Rocks and South Ledge (Malaysia/Singapore).
During meeting with H.E. Mr. Philippe Couvreur, Registrar of ICJ, Malaysian delegation provided the basis of the application to the Court, in particular on the lack of progress of the work of the Malaysia-Singapore Joint Technical Committee (MSJTC) due to the conflicting understanding of the meaning of the 2008 Judgement concerning South Ledge and the waters surrounding Pedra Branca/Pulau Batu Puteh.
