The Embassy of Malaysia in Kathmandu held a meeting with Nepal Health Professional Federation and Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA) on 18 March 2013.
Mr. Fadli Adilah, Charge d’ affaires a.i. of the Malaysian Embassy briefed the Meeting on decision by the Malaysian Government to introduce and implement the BioMedic System, which main objective is to further enhance the medical and screening process.
All foreign workers going to Malaysia for employment will soon have to undergo a mandatory biometric registration and medical test. The on-line System will also improve the current procedures, minimise and eliminate any manipulation opportunities and fraudulent cases.
Mr. Fadli Adilah also took the occasion to brief and discuss with the NAFEA Members about; the recruitment process by the agencies, employment visa procedures at the Embassy and the new minimum wage in Malaysia.
Earlier on 13 March, the Malaysian Embassy has met with the Director of Department of Foreign Employment in Kathmandu. Both parties discussed and exchanged ideas on BioMedic Ssytem and other issues related to employment.
