His Excellency Dato’ Ilankovan Kolandavelu, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Nepal and Datin Kala Ilankovan hosted a dinner reception to celebrate 52nd National Day of Malaysia on 31 August 2009 at the Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza. Her Excellency Hon’ble Mrs. Sujata Koirala, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal attended as Chief Guest. Around 200 (two hundred) persons including Ministers, Government officials, politicians, business persons, foreign diplomats, media persons, professionals, Malaysian nationals staying in Nepal and executive committee members of the MTCP Alumni Nepal attended the function.
At the function, Marcopolo Travels (GSA for Malaysian Airlines) promoted Tourism Malaysia while Google Educational Foundation promoted Higher Education in Malaysia. Copies of a special issue of Look Nepal Monthly Magazine on Malaysia-Nepal Bilateral Relations were distributed to the guests.
