Delegation from Malaysian Airport Berhad paid a courtesy call-on Ambassador of Malaysia to Nepal

The delegation from Malaysian Airport Berhad (MAHB) headed by Dato’ Azml Murad, Senior General Manager – Operations, paid a courtesy call on Dato’ Ilankovan Kolandavelu, Ambassador of Malaysia to Nepal on 8 February 2010. The 6 member delegation is in Kathmandu, Nepal from 7 – 11 February, 2010. During the visit, delegation is also scheduled to meet Hon’ble Mr. Sharat Singha Bhandari, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Secretary of the Ministry, Director General and Deputy of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and other officials from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and Nepal Airlines Corporation. The visit is initiated by the Ambassador of Malaysia following a series of meetings between the Ambassador of Malaysia and the Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal. MAHB has been invited by the Government of Nepal to explore the possibility of MAHB to operate and manage the Tribhivan International Airport, Kathmandu. The Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal had visited KLIA and Subang Sky Park in December 2009 and was very impressed at the professionalism and capability of MAHB to effectively manage the two airports. He was also aware that MAHB has been involved in airport operations in other countries like India, Turkey etc.

 

 The Ambassador also hosted a dinner on 9 February that was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal.
