Himalaya Airlines took its inaugural flight to Kuala Lumpur on 10 February 2017. Among the important guests in the flight were Honourable Mr Jivan bahadur Shahi, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Nepal, Honourable Mr Barat Bahadur Khadka, Member of Constituent Assembly from Nepali Congress and Capt Zhao Guo Qiang, President of Himalaya Airlines. Chargé d'affaires Mr Ahmad Phadil Ismail was also involved in the event. The flight was welcomed with a Malaysian theme reception at KLIA upon arrival. YBhg. Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, Managing Director of MAHB, YBhg. Datuk Musa Yusof, Senior Director International Promotion Division (Asia/Africa), Tourism Malaysia and HE Dr. Niranjan Man Singh Basnyat, Ambassador of Nepal to Malaysia were there to receive the passengers.
The official delegation was then hosted to a dinner by Capt Zhao Guo Qiang at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur. The arrangement was made by YBhg Dato’ Pradip Kumar Kukreja, Executive Chairman of Grand Paradise Holdings Sdn Bhd, General Sales Agent for Himalaya Airlines in KL.
