On 24 May 2017, Malaysia chaired and hosted the 26th ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM) Meeting at the Sheraton Hotel, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. The Meeting was attended by six members of the ACM which consists of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. During the meeting, the ACM discussed its plans and activities for the year 2017 including the celebration of the 50th ASEAN Anniversary. As the meeting was the last to be chaired by Malaysia before the end of its chairmanship on 30 June 2017, a simple ceremony was held to handover the Chairmanship to Philippines who will assume the post for six months from 1 July 2017. The meeting was followed by a luncheon that was also joined by Head of Missions’ spouses.
