H.E. Dato Rustam bin Yahaya, Ambassador of Malaysia and current Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM) chaired the 9th ACM meeting on the 18th May 2014 hosted by His Excellency Narciso T. Castañeda, Philippine Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman at his official residence in Madinat Sultan Qaboos.
The meeting was attended by the Head of Missions of ASEAN member countries accredited to the Sultanate of Oman; Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Republic of Philippines, Singapore and Thailand together with the members of the ACM Working Group. Among the highlights of the meeting was a discussion on future activities of ACM that would further promote and raise awareness of ASEAN’s goals and objectives in Oman.
Spouses of the ASEAN Ambassadors later joined the luncheon served after the meeting. The lunch consisted of authentic Pilipino food which was prepared by Mrs. Cleofa Castaneda, wife of the Ambassador of the Republic of Philippines.
