Ms. Mimi Kaur Ramday, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Malaysia paid a call on H.E. Nasser bin Mohammed bin Khalifah Al Busaidi, the new Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sultanate of Oman on 2 May 2016. The call was led by H.E. Narciso T. Castaneda, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines and Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM) with Ambassadors of ASEAN countries accredited to the Sultanate; namely, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Philippines. Malaysia and Thailand were represented by its respective Charge d’Affaires while Singapore was represented by Mr. Richard Grosse, Consul General.
The Head of ASEAN Department, its Deputy Head as well as the Deputy Chief of Protocol were also present during the visit. The call was held to congratulate H.E. Nasser on his recent appointment as Chief of Protocol as well as to officially introduce ACM and the Ambassadors of ASEAN Member States. The call lasted for one hour and managed to cover issues of general interest raised by the Chairman of ACM and respective Embassies.
The ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM) was established on 17 June 2012 by five Diplomatic Missions of ASEAN Member States accredited to the Sultanate of Oman; Brunei Darussalam, Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, Republic of the Philippines and Kingdom of Thailand. The Consulate of Singapore joined in 2013.
