CHARITY BAZAAR FOR JAPAN TSUNAMI AND EARTHQUAKE

The Ladies Association of the Embassy of Malaysia in Muscat (PERWAKILAN Muscat) has successfully organized a Charity Bazaar for Japan’s Tsunami and Earthquake Victims on 6 April 2011.  The event was held at the residence of the Charge d’ Affaires a.i. with participation by the Ladies Associations of Brunei Darulssalam, Thailand and Indonesia, made it the first ever ASEAN Ladies Programme in Muscat.

 

The Main purpose of the Bazaar was to collect donations for the Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims.  The highlight of the bazaar involved the selling of ASEAN delicacies, souveniers and handicrafts.  The Bazaar received overwhelming support by the locals and had been attended by an encouraging number of visitors.  The two-hour Bazaar had successfully collected an amount of Riyal Oman 907 (RM7,200).  The donation was handed over to the Japan Tsunami and Earthquake Victims through Madam Yoshiko Morimoto, wife of the Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman.

 

The Embassy of Malaysia wishes to convey its heartfelt congratulations to PERWAKILAN Muscat and look forward for more programs in the future.
