On 9 April 2017, TYT Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Sultanate of Oman, called on Lt. Gen. Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs. During the discussion, both sides underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation between Malaysia and Oman in the field of training, financial management, technology sharing and intelligence.
