GUIDELINE FOR RETURNING TO MALAYSIA
All passengers travelling into Malaysia must undergo mandatory quarantine at hotels/ public training institutes designated as Quarantine Stations and bear the cost of the quarantine.
Effective from 14 December 2020, passengers are encouraged to take a PCR test within 72 hours prior to arrival in Malaysia of which the quarantine period would be reduced to 7 days. Without the PCR test, passengers are subject to PCR test on arrival and 10-day quarantine. Guideline for returning to Malaysia is as follows:
- Before travelling to Malaysia, a Notice of Travel must be obtained from the Embassy of Malaysia in Muscat. A copy of Letter of Undertaking and Indemnity (click here), a copy of passport and flight itinerary must be submitted to mwmuscat.kln@gmail.com three days prior to departure.
- The Notice of Travel is valid for a period of 30 days from date of issuance.
- Foreign nationals must apply for a written permission from the Immigration Department of Malaysia via https://mtp.imi.gov.my/myTravelPass/main before requesting for the Travel Notice.
- Registration of personal details must be made on MySejahtera app three days before departure.
- To avoid long queue and delay, the cost of quarantine could be paid in advance through online. The cost of quarantine is RM150.00 per day.
- Foreign nationals must pay additional management charges of RM2,600.00.
- Transportation will be provided from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to the Quarantine Station.
- The LoU must be submitted at the Quarantine Station.
