Muscat, 4 August 2011 – H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Rustam Yahaya, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Sultanate of Oman and YBhg Datin Assoc. Prof. Dr. Musrifah Sapardi hosted an iftar with Malaysian community residing in Oman on 4 August 2011.
The event was held at the official Resident of the Ambassador in Shattil Al Qurum. The event started with breaking fast (iftar) followed by Maghrib prayers. Then varieties of Malaysian delicacies were served. The event proceeded with Isya’, Tarawikh and Witir prayers. More than 70 Malaysians attended the event despite most of Malaysian national have left for summer holidays. Ramadhan this year coincides with school holiday in Oman and therefore many Malaysian in Muscat have taken the opportunity in the summer break to perform their Ramadhan fasting and celebrate eidul fitri in Malaysia.
H.E Ambassador Dato' Rustam and Y.Bhg. Datin Musrifah expressed their gratitude and appreciation to all Malaysian who have attended the event. H.E. Ambassador also expressend hope and confidence that many more events, reception and gatherings among Malaysians in Oman could be held in the future. MAlaysians in Oman also looking forward for more gatherings to be hosted by the Embassy. As a matter of fact, they look forward for the Embassy's Eidul Fitri Open house this year.
