His Highnesss Sayyid Assad bin Tareq al Said, on behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, received H.E. Dato’ Rustam Yahaya in his office on 24 June 2014 to bid H.E. Dato’ Rustam farewell at the end of his tour of duty as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Sultanate of Oman. During the call, H.E. Dato’ Rustam expressed his sincere thanks to His Majesty the Sultan for the support he had received during his ambassadorship in the Sultanate. Similarly, H.H. Sayyid Assad expressed his utmost thanks to H.E. Dato’ Rustam for his effort in further strengthening bilateral relations between the Sultanate and Malaysia as well as wishing him the best in his future endeavors.
In another event, H.E. Aflah bin Sulaiman Al Tai, Head of the ASEAN Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sultanate of Oman hosted a farewell lunch in honour of H.E. Dato’ Rustam Yahaya at the esteemed Diplomatic Club of Muscat. The lunch event was attended by ambassadors of the ASEAN member countries accredited to the Sultanate as well as others ambassadors from the diplomatic corps and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sultanate of Oman.
Although nearing to his departure date, H.E. Dato’ Rustam Yahaya continues to make calls on ministers and prominent individuals that have supported and made significant contribution to the Oman-Malaysia bilateral cooperation to personally bid them farewell. Among them are the Sultan’s representative, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Minister of Tourism, Governor of Muscat as well as senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sultanate of Oman.
