On Monday, 10th March 2014, PERWAKILAN Muscat visited the Pediatric Oncology Ward at the Royal Hospital of the Sultanate of Oman. The 10 member delegation was met by Ms. Asma al Lawatiya, Head of Public Relation at the Royal Hospital and Ms. Elizabeth, Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery Affairs. The visit was organized to bring some cheer to the children at the pediatric and oncology ward whom were mostly diagnosed with terminal diseases.
During the hour long visit, the delegation distributed soft toys, books, art utensils and board games to the children whom had gathered with their mothers at the pediatric ward playroom. The delegation spent time talking to the mothers as well as playing and cuddling the children whom were mostly toddlers. The visit and toys distributed brought some relief to the mothers and especially the children whom were happily selecting toys to bring back to their beds at the ward. Before leaving, the delegation was invited to sign the guest book and had group photos taken as keepsake. PERWAKILAN Muscat left the hospital with a heavy heart and left with the promise to come back bearing more gifts for all the children as well as to do repainting work on its outdoor playground.
