YBhg. Dato’ Rustam Yahaya, Ambassador of Malaysia to Sultanate of Oman chaired and hosted the 3rd ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM) meeting on the 19 March 2014 at Rumah Malaysia. The meeting was attended by the four ASEAN ambassadors accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, namely; Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand while the Philippines was represented by its Charge’ de Affaires and Singapore was represented by its Consul General.
The meeting was held to discuss the upcoming activities to be carried out in the month of March which consist of the ASEAN Sports Day on the 22nd March 2014 as well as the ACM familiarization visit to the Governorate of Musandam from 29 to 31 March 2014. Among issues discussed were the proposal to hold annual consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organization of the ASEAN Day Reception as well as holding more varied and substantive activities to promote ASEAN in the host country and amongst the local communities.
