THIRTEEN MALAYSIAN INSTITUTIONS PARTICIPATED IN GHEDEX 2013 IN MUSCAT

Malaysian booths have attracted a good number of visitors during the Global Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX 2013) held at Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE) Centre in Muscat on 23-25 April 2013. Thirteen Malaysian Institutes of Higher Education comprised of three public universities and ten private universities with 24 officials participated in the said exhibition. A Malaysian company, MY Aspirations Sdn. Bhd., was appointed as exclusive Sales Agency by OITE for Malaysian participants.

 

Malaysia has been one of the favourite destinations among the Omanis to further their education due to its high standards and qualities, similarities in culture as well as affordable tuition and cost of living. Each year, Malaysia has seen good increases of Omani students registering at Malaysian education institutions. In 2011, for the first time, the Government of the Sultanate of Oman has agreed to send their sponsored undergraduate students to Malaysia with 285 students registered at various Malaysian universities.

 

The Malaysian participation in GHEDEX 2103 was yet another milestone for Malaysia in promoting its education sector. To achieve Malaysian Government’s target for Malaysia to become an education hub in the Southeast Asia region.
