Karachi, 31 August - Malaysians in Karachi gathered this morning at the Consulate General for the flag hoisting ceremony to commemorate the 56th anniversary of Independence Day of Malaysia. Clad in colourful baju melayu (traditional Malay outfit for men) and baju kebaya (for ladies), the crowd sang NegaraKu, the Malaysian national anthem, during the ceremony.
Malaysians celebrate this year’s Independence Day with the theme 'My Sovereign Malaysia, My Native Land'.
