Distribution of MPOC Relief Aid in Badin

BADIN, 29 October 2011: CG Abu Bakar Mamat visited Taluka Golarchi in Badin district to witness the distribution of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) relief aid to the flood-affected people in the area. The visit was organised by an NGO called DawnRelief (www.dawnrelief.dawn.com)
On 6 October 2011, MPOC donated 10 metric tons of palm oil-based vanaspathi ghee to DawnRelief. The donation, valued at Rp 1.8 million (RM65,000.00), was targeted to reach 5,000 families.
DawnRelief is currently supporting flood affectees in 27 villages in Badin and Thatta districts.
