His Excellency Dato' Ahmad Anwar Adnan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan undertook a Working Visit to Karachi from 26-29 July 2010 in conjunction with the ASEAN Ambassadors' Visit to Karachi organised by Karachi Council of Foreign Relations, Economic Affairs and Law (KCFR). During the visit, H.E Dato' Ahmad Anwar Adnan with his ASEAN colleagues from Brunei, Indonesia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam visited and held meetings with a number of prominent personalities and organisation in Karachi, among others, visit to Build Asia Exhibition organise by Ecommerce Gateway (Pvt.) Ltd at Karachi Expo Centre; visit and placing of wreath at Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah Mausoleum; participation at Interactive Seminar organised by KCFR entitled "Pakistan-ASEAN: A Way Forward For Durable Relations"; Meeting with President and Managing Committee Members of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI); Courtesy Call on Hon. Governor of Sindh; Hon. Chief Minister of Sindh and Hon. Speaker of Sindh Provincial Assembly; Networking Dinner hosted by Federal Minister of Overseas Pakistani; and Networking Luncheon hosted by Provincial Tourism Minister of Sindh.
Apart of the above programme, the Consul General of Malaysia in Karachi, Mr. Mohd. Khalid Abdul Razak arranged a side programme for H.E Dato' Ahmad Anwar Adnan to visit and have meetings with prominent business and trade fraternity of Karachi i.e. visit to FELDA Westbury Qasim (FWQ) Enterprises (Pvt.) Ltd at Port Qasim, Networking Meeting with Chairman of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) including prominent businessmen of Karachi, Meeting with President and Managing Committee of Karachi Chambers of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and Meeting with Director Marketing, DAWN Pakistan. The Consul General also arranged meeting with Malaysian Agencies and Businessmen in Karachi, Hi-Tea in honour of Dato' Ahmad Anwar for Diplomatic Corps of Karachi and visit to the Consulate Office in Karachi.
The first ever visit to Karachi was indeed successful as the High Commissioner had the opportunity to assess the immense potential of Karachi and Sindh economy which is the engine of growth of Pakistan.
