The Consul General of Malaysia in Karachi and Madam Aniza Khalid hosted an Iftar and Terawih prayers on 28 August 2010.

More than 70 fellow Malaysians attended the event which was held at the Official Residence of the Consul General or 'Rumah Malaysia'. The Iftar started at 6:53pm and was followed by Maghrib prayers and Dinner. After Isyak, Terawih prayers were performed and followed by Tahlil and "Doa Selamat". Various Malaysian homemade dishes were prepared by Madam Aniza Khalid for the special occasion. The function was also held as to bid farewell to Saudara Mohd. Rizal Yusof, PA to Consul General, who had served in Karachi since its inception i.e. 15 April 2004. The Consul General and Madam were happy to see a big turnout of fellow Malaysians attending the function which portrays the multiracial and multicultural country of Malaysia. No doubt, the Iftar and Terawih prayers reminded all of their own memories and nostalgia of fasting in 'Kampung' back in Malaysia.

Happy Ramadhan Al-Mubarak
