Malaysian volunteers delegation calls on Sindh Governor
KARACHI, Sept 7 (APP): A 68-member delegation from Malaysia which included 40 doctors who are currently engaged in relief work in the flood affected areas, called on Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan, at the Governor House on Tuesday. The delegation led by Dato Abdul Azeez Bin Abdul Rahim, president of Kelab Putera I Malaysia, a non-government organization (NGO) had arrived in Pakistan on August 29 after hearing about the devastation of floods in Pakistan.
The Governor Sindh appreciated the mission of the Malaysian delegation to render relief work in the flood affected areas of Pakistan. He said that only three weeks ago he had briefed the Consul Generals based in Karachi regarding the devastation caused by the unprecedented floods in the country. Dr. Ishrat very much lauded the quick response from brotherly Malaysia. He also thanked the leadership and the people of Malaysia. In this regards, he also praised the contributions of the Malaysian Consul General in Karachi, Mohd Khalid Abdul Razak, who was also present on the occasion. Dr. Ishrat was of the view that such a people to people contact would help further enhance the friendly ties between Pakistan and Malaysia. |
