KARACHI: The Malaysia Women clinched the top two individual positions while the Malaysian team defended their 1st runner-up position at the 2nd ASEAN Diplomatic Bowling Tournament held on 1 April 2011 at Royal Rodale Bowling Club. Madam Aniza Khalid, spouse of the Malaysian Consul General, the defending champion of the individual event in 2010 was the 1st runner-up whereas her partner, Mrs. Julia Lukman emerged as the champion. The Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Mohd Khalid Abdul Razak was the 3rd runner-up for the Men Individual event which was dominated by the Indonesians. The event organized by the Consulate General of Indonesia saw the participation of all 3 ASEAN Consulates i.e. Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Trade Office of Vietnam and Myanmar including Consulates of China, Japan, Korea and Sri Lanka. The Consul General and spouses of the respective countries headed their teams for the challenge that consists of a mix team of 2 men and 2 women and for both men and women individuals. The event provided an ample opportunity to all to enjoy the recreational activity in the true spirit of sportsmanship and portrays the close cooperation and brotherhood of ASEAN and the Consular Corps in Karachi.
