KARACHI: Y.B. Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, Minister of Plantation Industries & Commodities, Malaysia undertook a working visit to Karachi from 17 – 19 January 2011 in conjunction with 2nd Malaysia-Pakistan Palm Oil Trade Fair and Seminar (POTS) 2011, held at Sheraton Hotel, Karachi on 18 January 2011. During the visit, Y.B. Menteri was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Plantation Industries & Commodities (MPIC), Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and 15 members business delegation. TYT. Dato’ Ahmad Anwar Adnan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan also participated in the event and accompanied Y.B. Minister throughout the three days visit to Karachi. The Consulate General of Malaysia, Karachi was entrusted to host and organize the working visit with close collaboration of MPOC Regional Office in Lahore, Pakistan.
Taking advantage of Y.B. Minister inaugural visit to Karachi, the Consul General hosted a ‘Majlis Ramah Mesra 1 Malaysia’ in honour of Y.B. Minister and delegation held at Consulate Building on 17 January 2011. This simple but lively occasion was attended by all Malaysian residing in Karachi including students and provided an ample opportunity to all to mingle and exchanges view with a senior cabinet leader of Malaysia.
