The Chargé d’Affaires of South African High Commission in Suva, Fiji, Mr. Abbey Matoto Pindelo, who was on a working visit to Papua New Guinea, 4 – 8 March 2013, made a courtesy call on the Malaysian High Commissioner, PYT Datin Seri Blanche Olbery as the Dean of Diplomatic Corps on 6 March 2013.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on bilateral relations especially on Malaysia and South Africa. South African Government plans to appoint a Honorary Consul in Papua New Guinea, who is a distinguished businessman to increase trade and investment between South Africa and Papua New Guinea since the mining, gas and energy sectors are experiencing a boom in Papua New Guinea and South Africa has already four (4) gold mines operating in Papua New Guinea.
