The Malaysian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, H.E. Jilid Kuminding paid a courtesy call on Brigadier General Gilbert Toropo, DMS, MBE, Commander of the PNG Defence Force (PNGDF) on 27 May 2014. The purpose of the call was to officially introduce himself to the new PNGDF Commander-in-Chief. They also discussed issues on Malaysia – Papua New Guinea bilateral relations and Malaysian participation in economic, trade and investment. H.E. High Commissioner was joined by Mr. Desmond Lau, Business Manager, Bewani Oil Palm Plantation Ltd who briefed the General pf their project in development of the 140,000 hectares oil palm project in Vanimo, Sandaun Province.
