Malaysian Association of Papua New Guinea Annual General Meeting 2012

The Annual General Meeting of the Malaysian Association of Papua New Guinea (MAPNG) was held on Saturday, 28 April 2012 at Dynasty Seafood Restaurant in Port Moresby. The meeting was well attended by over 40 Malaysians that include businessmen and citizens working in Port Moresby.
The meeting was briefed by the outgoing President on the list of activities carried out in 2010/2011 that include Malaysian Day, Malaysian nite dinner, harbour cruise, badminton tournament, food fair apart from the golf charity that raised a total fund of K650,000. The fund has been distributed to various charity organisations in Port Moresby. The meeting further discussed about the budget outlook. A new committee has also been elected during the AGM to steer MAPNG’s direction for the next 12 months.
Malaysia High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, PYT Datin Seri Blanche Olbery delivered a speech in her capacity as patron of the association. In her speech, PYT High Commissioner congratulated MAPNG for the successful implementation of the planned activities last year. PYT High Commissioner highlighted that the activities not only have strengthened solidarity among Malaysians, but at the same time promoted the good image Malaysia to the people of Papua New Guinea and the international community. She also called for all Malaysians in PNG to maintain unity and remain supportive towards each other.
The AGM was held in a cordial and cheerful atmosphere - a true reflection of 1Malaysia in Papua New Guinea.
