The 1 Malaysia Chinese New Year Open House was held on 19th February 2012. The event was organized by the Sechenov Malaysian Students Association in Yunost Hotel, Moscow. H.E. Dato’ Zainol Abidin Omar, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Russian Federation, Y.Bhg. Datin Rusamelia Rusland and Embassy officials were also present at the event. The Open House was attended by over 350 Malaysian students who are studying in Moscow.
During the event the guests were entertained with cultural performances by the Malaysian students including the Chinese traditional fan dance, exhibition of Chinese traditional martial arts, Chinese poetry, piano performance and modern dance. The Embassy has always been supportive and encourages any activities organized by the Malaysian students Associations in the Russian Federation, especially in celebrating the various major festivals in Malaysia.
