On 13 August 2009, TYT Dato' Ambassador hosted lunch for the Malaysian cycling junior team (2 cyclists, coach En. Suod Hussain, Mr Nick Slyger and En. Azrain) at the Malaysian Embassy.
Malaysian cyclist Muhamad Adiq Husainie Othman made the country proud by securing a respectable 3rd place in Men's 10 km Scratch Race (first place Italy, second Denmark) on 12 August 2009.
Another cyclist, Muhammad Zulhilmie Afif Ahmad Zamri also participated in the event. Both cyclist competed in the endurance events; individual pursuit, points race and scratch race.
UCI Junior World Track Championships, was organized by the Russian Cycling Federation and was held at the Krylatskoe Velodrome, Moscow from 11-15 August 2009. 20 countries participated in the tournament.
