On 27 May 2026, DCM Mr. Shahir accompanied YM Raja Dato’ Nushirwan bin Zainal Abidin, DG of the National Security Council, on a courtesy call on H.E. Nikolai P. Patrushev, Adviser to the Russian President and Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening naval cooperation, exchanged views on international maritime issues, and discussed respective maritime structures and approaches.
