Moscow, 26 January 2018 – In the effort to sustain the good working relationship between Mission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Datuk Mat Dris Haji Yaacob paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Morgulov Igor Vladimirovich, Deputy Foreign Minister (in-charge of the Asian Pacific region) of the Russian Federation on 26 January 2018 at the latter’s office.
His Excellency DFM Morgulov congratulated and welcomed Ambassador Datuk Mat Dris as the Malaysian Ambassador to the Russian Federation and expressed the belief that his mission will be productive especially in elevating bilateral relations to a new height. Describing Malaysia as a long-time partner of Russia, Datuk Mat Dris remarked that potential areas of cooperation which could be explored further are plenty, particularly in areas of cooperation such as trade and investment, science and technology, tourism and education.
